Hi again - I am having a screen redraw problem in Windows XP which occurs only with Kyma.

The display adapter that I am using is a Matrox Parhelia 128. Both of my displays are set to 32 bit colour, and I am using the latest Matrox driver. I have read posts here on the forum from a few years ago, and I see that OpenGL is a major factor for smooth operation.

Which version of OpenGL is required to run Kyma properly?

I ask because I found some more info on the net about Parhelia and Open GL. To paraphrase from the Matrox forums:

- "<my Parhelia> came from the factory with Open GL ver 1.3"
- "Sorry, but you won't find OpenGL 2.0 drivers for your Parhelia card. ... Matrox never released any."

Is this the problem I am running into too with Kyma?

Thanks,
Tom

Please try unchecking Enable Graphics Acceleration in Edit>Preferences Miscellaneous. This will execute the OpenGL in software rather than on the graphics card.

Do you have more than one monitor?

Hi, thank you for your replies.

Indeed it was the preferences setting. Thanks so much, and apologies for not finding it in the manual beforehand, though I see it now.

Cheers,
Tom

So far I had tried the idea suggested but didn't get any better.
When placing some kyma windows out of the 'main' screen (of the 4 ones I have), I get some 'noise' in these. For info, Kyma runs on an early 2009 nehalem mac pro 8 cores.
I found out today that if I enlarge the sound editing window (dispatch) to three of the screens, it goes 'fine'; actually as long as the said window shares some place with the main central screen it seems going well.
This may be of some help to characterize this issue for future resolution in next kyma update.
