![]() ![]() ![]() Hi All, I'm running Kyma on Windows XP. The first time I used Kyma one thing I noticed but never bothered to raise as an issue was the mouse update rate when playing a sound or a timeline. The pointer is quite sluggish in this context, Kyma seems to update the mouse position information at circa 1hz. It's particularly noticable when editing a VCS, makes fine work quite fiddly and rapid work very difficult. Playing sounds with the Wacom tablet is generally OK although I do notice that note on messages are a bit flaky - even while holding the pen down reasonably firmly notes can end and get retriggered - I put that down to the fact I'm using a Graphire tablet not an Intuous but perhaps they are related. Today I was mucking around with the VCFJarreTransformer.pci tool from the tweaky and the mouse sluggisghness is very apparent when using this tool. I can only conclude that this is a fault either on my PC or with the way Kyma runs on windows as I cannot imagine anyone being satisfied or even enthused about how it performs - the update rate would need to be circa 1khz rather than 1hz for it to perform as expected. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Can anyone offer advice on how to fix/get around this. Thanks, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Sean, Does this happen with all Timelines and all Tools? Or only with particular Timelines and Tools? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi SSC, The mouse gets sluggish when playing almost anything but seems to be worse when playing a complex sound or timeline. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hallo Sean, the VCFJarreTransformer.pci tool seems to get sluggish having recorded events at for example 120bpm and then playing back those events at the same tempo. That is a *feature* which I should try and fix If you play them back at a higher bpm, the sluggishness goes away. (For a generic version of the tool, see the 'Generic Transformer' entry in the Kyma Sound Exchange forum). [This message has been edited by photonal (edited 28 May 2009).] IP: Logged |
