Am I chasing a ghost?

Today I read off this info from Matrixsynth: http://m.matrixsynth.com/2011/11/symbolic-sound-releases-kyma-x82.html

And confirmed here: http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Company/KymaX82

But I can just find this: http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Know/KymaXDownloads

(Even tried cheating a bit by trying this http://www.symbolicsound.com/zzz/pub/Know/KymaXDownloads/KymaX682M.zip

Any insight? Thanks!

I'm looking forward to yet another free update -- thanks SSC and everyone else who makes this possible.

While I wait, I'm enjoying going through all the great sound and video clips: http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Products/SoundClips

http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Company/KymaX82 is certainly very exciting - wonder how much of the new functionality will work on a Capybara.

The sound examples are fantastic! and nice to see that the 'What's New in Kyma' video is up!!
I just so hope morph3d works on my Capy ;-)

trotz: Sounds like you need a 'KymaInsider' website

I just got wind of .82. Seems like a very substantial update. I'm very excited to see that controller support is one of the major themes. Trying to hear the samples and see the videos but connection is too slow to stream them properly.

I need to convince SSC to get a Vimeo account at least for the video.

But thank you SSC for the constant innovation.

Oh wow, let me just say that these are some of your best sound and video samples yet. Loving the possibilities for entirely new instruments to emerge.

Very inspiring. You've just decimated and possibility of free time I had this winter. Perfect timing with the onset of winter. I can hibernate with these sounds and emerge in the Spring.

Awesome stuff.

Eager to hear what happens when you hook up your Manta, Eigenharp, and monome to some of the new algorithms!

Time decimation... sometimes it's a good thing

It is already there. What happened? ISP cache issues? Or was it really not there when I tried?

Never mind. Downloading at this very moment and joining the party later this evening.

Regards to all!

Hi, I confirm Windows version of X.82 is not accessible.

the link http://www.symbolicsound.com/zzz/pub/Know/KymaXDownloads/KymaX682W.zip
in Tweaky http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Know/KymaXDownloads
gives Error 404 Not Found
and really there is no file with 82W in name here: http://www.symbolicsound.com/zzz/pub/Know/KymaXDownloads/

Fixed! (turned out it was all because of the umlaut in the folder names containing the analyses of Franz Danksagmüller's organ samples).

New version (for both Windows and Mac) have been uploaded. And Franz's name now appears correctly in the new folder names!

Thanks for your patience while we tracked this one down. Hope you enjoy the new Sounds in the Sound Library (scroll down below anOverview to see 'Analysis resynthesis, keymaps, & morphing x82' in the Sound Browser

I've downloaded .82 (Mac version) and while the update seems to be correct, it appears that the version no. still shows 6.78 both in the "get info" panel and on the splash screen. Is that true for others as well? I just want to make sure that I do, in fact, have the correct update.

Also, am I correct that there is no firmware update with this version? I ask only because this is the first update in a while where no such prompts appeared.

Thanks,
Bob

You are right about Get info from the Finder -- sorry we missed that one! But, choosing About Kyma from the Apple menu when running Kyma should show 6.82.
