![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe a bit early to ask but for now is it save to go for an Intel Mac? I already use an PowerBook G4 and I'm interested in the upcoming new MacBook Pro. For me it's considerably better to wait for one year and focus now on more DSP cards or something like the JazzMutant's Lemur. -Armand IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() We expect that Kyma will be compatible with Rosetta emulation but we don't yet know for certain. Once we have tested it, we will let you know. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I've tryed an 20" iMac Intel yesterday in a Apple Centre in Amsterdam running Adobe's InDesign, well it worked... but... it is just to slow to work with. Will this be the same case with Kyma? And the update for Kyma running native on the Mac Intel, is this an minor or a major update? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Have been using Kyma all morning on an Intel iMac w/ 1 gigabyte memory under Rosetta emulation. So far so good! (Turn off Spotlight for hard disk playback/recording). Feels slightly faster than a G4 900 MHz in this emulation mode. Impressive emulation job Apple(!) more soon... IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Some rough benchmarks to give you an idea of how Kyma is running on the Intel Mac. Here are the relative speeds compared on the basis of loading the Haiku Timeline on a G4: G4------------933 MHz--768 MB===== 1 Under the Rosetta emulation, the new iMac is just slightly slower than a Dual G5/1.8 GHz.
