Author | Topic: New version breaks physical models

![]() ![]() ![]() The latest update has broken a number of the physical model Sounds made by Harm Visser. Attached are several of the affected Sounds. I get the following message when I try to load these Sounds: The Capybara-320 is not responding. These all worked fine with the previous release. In fact a couple of them were what lead to the discovery of the CrossFilterShort VCS problem. [This message has been edited by SSC (edited 21 June 2007).] IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() To fix these Sounds, please change the short impulse or excitation recordings (GenericSource Mono Sample) from Disk to RAM. The excitation recordings are extremely short so it is not necessary to stream them directly off disk; it is more efficient to pre-load them into RAM before the Sound plays (which happens automatically if you select RAM in the GenericSource). The error message started appearing in the new version due to an optimization we made for disk playback. But the physical model Sounds should be changed in any case in order to make them more efficient. IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() hello i am receiving the same error message while attempting to edit and save samples. "not enough heap memory to perform operation" after the message the capy needs to re intialize and i loose the sample edits. it happens with a number of different sample files. i have been trimming and editting samples then 'save as' to convert to a mono file and the message occurs. Initially, i thought certain edits had saved appropriately but when i attempt to open the files, they saved with fewer samples than the header indicates.

![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry, not enough information to go on. Could you please email us the Sound (or a simplified version of the Sound that still gives the error)? Thanks! Before you do that, please verify that you are using version 6.461 (we fixed some problems in this version). Thanks! IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() i'll try - but these sounds are huge and use multisample instruments and the like... IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() You could try turning on Stack Traces in the Preferences and then email us a stack trace. (Were you able to verify that you are using the latest update: 6.461?) Thanks! IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() Looks like there is a trailing carriage-return in the Polyphony field of AnalogSequencer named 'hat'. (In next update, trailing CRs will be ignored but you can fix yours for now by deleting the CR) IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks! the weird thing is that I'm sure the compiler did not have a problem with this sound before the update... But maybe it was just a tiny adjustment and then it broke - and coincided with the update! [This message has been edited by cristian_vogel (edited 28 August 2007).] IP: Logged |
