Hey all,
I am looking to set up a more generic, global, use of capyTalk's fileDuration method. I am able to selectively extract a file duration with capyTalk using
'filename.wav' fileDuration s
and I have gotten this working with bpm and repeatingRamp. My issue is that every time I change the sample, I have to change the filename inside capyTalk.
Is there a method for referencing the sample field directly without specifying the name? (e.g. thisSound) Or must there always be a static call to the filename 'myFileName.wav'?

note: I was unable to get [ SamplesFile filename asString ] to evaluate, and I do not want to have a ?variable to prompt a new sound each time I compile. (I have been looking through the Scripts inside Kyma Sound Library)
I was unable to find any other posts on the forum with a related issue.

Thanks very much for any help!
Jon

Hi Jon,

For now, there is no a way to reference a Sound's sample file without entering the name of the file. We'll add that to the wish list!
