![]() ![]() ![]() i'm considering using kyma as part of my live set-up. this means taking the [basic] capy320 on the road, train, airplane. i would use a sturdy flightcase. has anyone had any problems with the capy braking down under these conditions? i dont want to take any unnecessary chances! thanks eben IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I have the softcase from symbolicsound for the kyma and have taken it on a plane, but always take it as part of my carry on luggate and put it in the overhead like a small suitcase. I have travelled with the case by car and have had no problems in either case. I have travelled with large road cases that were checked or sent ahead and only twice have had problems (fork lift into the case and a porter dropped a case from 8 feet). kyma is just too expensive not to carry on for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() When we do demo tours/workshops, we use the soft case for road travel and the hard flightcase (checked baggage) for air travel and trains. So far so good (I would superstitiously knock on some wood right now but everything around me seems to be made of plastic). The Capybara in its soft case *does* fit in the overhead compartment. But in the current security climate, it's easier/quicker to just put it in its flightcase and check it. Then you won't be constantly questioned about what it is or asked to demonstrate that it is a "sound computation engine" (see? the blue light turns on!) IP: Logged |
