Since everyone is being so wonderful, must be the time of year.....

Is there a key command for unlocking the VCS? (other than clicking on the icon...

Is there a way to save a default timeline with alternate default parameters.. (but appears when new timeline is chosen from the 'new' dialogue....)

My humble apologies if these gems are obvious in documentation.

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

To my (modest) knowledge, no on both counts.

FWIW I'd really like to see a key command for unlocking the VCS (SSC? )

re default timeline, best I can suggest is set a 'template' timeline up and use it as a starting point (i.e. open then 'save as'). You probably have already been using that method.

Regards
Sean

I second that, and add :
"There must be key shortcuts for every important commands."
I don't need/want to have a key command to initialize the DSP, though.

Here's a table of keyboard shortcuts that Randall Thomas assembled in the tweaky, btw:

One problem with key combinations is that, between the OS and editing conventions, most 2-key combinations are already defined. So the only direction to go is toward combinations of 3 or more keys.

For Kyma OS X users, there is an intense freeware Unicode keyboard layout editor application named Ukelele developed by John Brownie from SIL.Org:

Perhaps utilizing Ukelele's extensive capabilities, a unique "Kyma.keylayout" extension for the Mac OS X could be developed?
