Author | Topic: VCS Preset Menu Problem |

![]() ![]() ![]() I'm running 5.18 (Mac Version) and the preset menu has a problem... If for example, I have ten presets and have the first one selected and then click in the menu again and select the fifth one - the next time I click in the menu - it shrinks down to five entries. If I select the ninth entry, I then can only see one entry in the menu and have to try and scroll through them - If I then select the first entry again, I can see all the entries in the menu. ![]() ![]() ![]() Question: Is the top of your VCS just at the top of your computer screen? If so, then there may not be enough room for Kyma to display all of the presets in the proper order, especially if the selected preset is towards the bottom of the list. You can rectify this by dragging your VCS lower on the screen. You can also still scroll upwards to get the presets above your selection, even if you don't see all of the presets displayed. ![]() ![]() ![]() My VCS was just under the Prototypes window. When the preset menu shrinks (especially to just one entry) it makes scrolling *very* difficult - the entries *whizz* by - like trying to scroll a document in word!! Thanks, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Couldn´t this be made into default, so that one doesn´t have to hold down an extra key to show the content of the VCS preset? Just a suggestion. /Ĝivind/ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I just remembered another 'feature' which I wondered about - It seems that the VCS is global to a Sound File containing other sounds. E.g. I have a sound file containing variations of sounds (sequencers) - I was playing one of them and saved some presets, on opening another sequencer it had the additional presets that the previous sequencer had (am I making sense? :==) This wouldn't normally be an issue if the various sounds were identical in structure - but it does create problems if they are not. It would be useful if I could have an independent VCS associated with each sound within a SoundFile rather than global to the SoundFile - That way it keeps the preset menu from building up to an unmanageable size and still allows me to organise sounds within SoundFiles. Or perhaps allow the user to 'Save Presets' / 'Load Presets' for a Sound. In that way I could save/load my presets for a sound which relate to its use in a particular Song. Just some thoughts.... ![]() ![]() ![]() The VCS is *not* global to the Sound file, and each Sound does have its own VCS. (I wonder if you might have created all the sequencers in the file by copying a single initial sequencer, thus explaining the shared preset *names*)?? Being able to "import" presets from another Sound is a good idea. [This message has been edited by SSC (edited 13 November 2001).] IP: Logged |
