I really would love to be able to use my headzone pro from beyerdynamic as audio interface with my pacarana, so i can do surround mixes, i would just need my head zone and pacarana so would be a really efficient set up on the go but is not on the supported list!! , is there any way to make it compatible? or is there a way to request symbolic to support this interfaces? :P , also would be nice if I can route audio from and to the pacarana using cycling 74 soundflower any ideas? thanks a lot!!!

Have you tried it? Allthough it's not on the supported list it could still be compatible.. Soundflower support would be nice, but I read somewhere in this forum that they are working on it

Could you please give us a link to the specs on the HeadZone model you have? What kind of input(s) can it take? (the model we found on the web did not seem to have FireWire or USB inputs)?

Hi thanks a lot for the reply!! this is the link : http://north-america.beyerdynamic.com/shop/hah/headphones-and-headsets/studio-and-stage/studio-headphones/headzone-pro.html

I really hope i could use it with kyma as a direct sound card , I tried to use it as a monitoring system thru ableton because i cant do it thru kyma but it seems there is an issue when both units are working in the same computer, if I turn on the headzone and then I try to turn on kyma , kyma wont launch, and if I try the other way around the system just crashes , If I cant use it directly with my pacarana at least I would like to use it thru another software on the same computer but i cant do that right now.

the headzone uses firewire400.

thanks again

The behavior you describe sounds like the Mac might have the Headzone selected as its audio output in Audio MIDI Setup. Maybe it is selected as the device to play GUI alert sounds or perhaps it is set up as the audio output device for the Mac?

I ve been checking different setups to check that and no thats not the case,I kept open the audio preferences on the mac to see any changes then I have launched successfully ableton with a Mackie onyx 1220-i as audio input and the headzone as audio output and it works fine but if I try to launch kyma the software wont launch also the headzone has an user interface as well and if both hardwares are connected neither of them will launch ( kyma x and headzone software) and if kyma was already working before I turn up the headzone unit kyma will crash.

I also notice that when the onyx and headzone where working fine the pacarana display kept reading searching audio interface so maybe was trying to use the headzone for any reason and is some kind of confusion there.

my full firewire set up is as follows:

I have a mac book pro with firewire 800 going to my pacarana, the other firewire the pacarana has is connected with a firewire cable which is firewire 800 in one end and the other end is firewire 400 which connects to my capybara thru the flame, from the flame the other free connection goes to my onyx 1220-i and finally from the onyx to the headzone which has to be the last connection since only has one firewire input.

I dont know if those connections have any to do with the problem , i dont thinks so but anyway .

finally I try to use the onyx 1220-i as audio input to my pacarana which I guess is the same as the previous model 1220 and if the capybara power is not on it will recognize and use the onyx but if i just turn on capybara and try to use the onyx it wont work , it would only work with the capybara.

I hope I can find a solution soon, I want to keep making noise lol
