a probably very beginning question here... but...

many kyma prototypes say that something happens out of its right output and something else happens out of its left output..

the SPECTRUM TRACK SELECTOR for example says that the amp envelope will appear out of the left output and the freq. envelop out of the right output..

it seems to be that all (?) kyma prototypes only have one output.. so how do you specify one of these particular signals to go out of its own output?

ie: how do i use the left output as an amp env. and a separate right output as a as a freq. env when there are no parameter fields to execute this?

i think the answer might lie in the RIGHT or LEFT CHANNEL ONLY mixer prototypes....

?
thanks

in addition to the channeler, if you are pasting the sound into blue parameter field, you can append the pasted sound with L or R which defines the channel. never used that method on spectral sounds like you are referencing, so you've have to confirm that usage.

david also posted a sound which will tell you if the sound works in mono or stereo. digging around in the sound exchange should turn it up.

uh, and i thought that the L is some method to downsample the data to some kind of control-stream.

if it is not L how else can i then reduce ?

Yes, you can use L, R, or M after a Sound pasted into a parameter field to use the Sound as a control signal (sampled at 1 khz). The letter indicates either Left, Right, or Mono mix.

You can also change the sampling to lower rates by using L:, R:, or M:. The number following the colon indicates the number of milliseconds between samples. For example

[aSound] L: 5

samples the left channel of aSound every 5 milliseconds (200 hz).
