I've been getting crashes in OS X Kyma, when I try and do GA Analysis from a spectral file - towards the end of the analysis, it gives me an error and if i try and use whatever file is created it crashes the DSP. I've tried two times with different analysis files, and I get the same thing. Any thoughts?

Hi Cristian,

I checked the GA analysis tool by trying it out on the harmonic spectrum file called 'trb2c f h' and did not encounter any problems. Some things to double-check are that you are giving the GA analysis a *spectrum* (rather than a sample) and also that it is a *harmonic* spectrum (name should be followed by the letter 'h' rather than the letter 's').

What analysis parameters are you using? (Another thought...are you using a Mac? If so, you could try turning off the background disk indexing done by Spotlight--Go to System Preferences, Click Spotlight, then the Privacy tab, and add your audio disk to the private disks that are not to be accessed in the background by Spotlight).

If you are still having problems with the file, please attach it to an email and send it to us so we can have a look at it.

Thanks!

Also, maybe its related, I'm getting errors with the Sample Editor - I'm trying to use the function generators to make lots of Impulses but when I generate the first one and save it, no problem - then I select all, generate another one, and try and save it it, but this time ( same as with the GA analysis ) , I more often than not get an error - 'Unexpected End Of File' , error (0) Nothing - and the file does get put on the disk, but it contains no information.... I am using Mac OS X, I'll try turn off spotlight...

I was having similar problems until I turned spotlight off. However, I quite like having spotlight turned on... I hope SSC can include this as a future bug fix???
