AnalogSequencerDurations?.kym

Hi!

I´ve got a problem with the durations of the "analog sequencer". When I set one duration to a positive amount and leave the others 0, the sequencer seems to select the velocities in a random order.
I made two presets: "Duration01 dropouts": I´d expect the sequencer to repeat the first step all over the time. Instead, I get several dropouts. (Only Vel01 is selected)
In the second preset: "Duration01 , random pitches" I set all velocities to 1: I´d expect only the pitch of the first step. Instead, I get the pitches of randomly selected steps.
Did I get something wrong or is this a bug?

Best,
Franz

Sorry Franz, I had difficulties downloading your example due to the '?' in the filename. But I think I might be able o guess what is happening. The best way to skip stages in the AnalogSequencer is by adjusting the StartIndex and EndIndex. Setting a duration to zero will not skip that stage; it actually gives some minimal duration to that stage (which may be why it sounded like a random result).

Here I try it again. I reduced the steps to two. The funny thing is, the "dropouts" do not occour regulary.
Another question is: If setting the duration to zero won´t work, how would I skip steps in a live performance?
Thank you!

Hi Franz,

When skipping a step, would you want it to be silent for the duration of the skipped step? Or do you want to completely skip over that pitch/velocity/duration? (I am guessing you want to skip everything since you are setting duration to zero)?

Are the stages you want to skip located at the beginning and/or end of the sequence? Or located in the middle of the sequence?

Could you please try reducing both the duration AND the velocity to zero on the step you want to skip?
