hello
how do you program timing changes into scripts. for example, how can i set an event sequence [eg midi file etc] to change gradually from say, 120 bpm to 60 bpm over 60 seconds?

You can do this by using the TimeControl Sound. This will control the speed of all of the Sounds playing at the time.

In the Rate field, you could use:

1 + (1 ramp: 20 s)

to cause the BPM to double over 20 seconds.

i have succeeded in doing this, but how can i control the speed of just ONE sound at a time if i have lots playing together?

what i want to achieve is this: i have made up 8 or so 'self-sequencing' instruments that use separate scripts as event sequencers and samples as sound sources. i have them playing together in a timeline, but i want to control the playback tempo of individual instruments at diferent times. the Time Control Sound affects all the scripts at once [but not other sequencer speeds such as Analogue Sequencer]

can i write tempo changes INTO smalltalk event scripts? i can set diferent metronome/clock speeds in each script, but how can i set them to change speed indipendantly over time??

Could you generate the events in your script with algorithmically changing durations? This would give the same effect as changing the BPM...
