Hi all

I have been learning how to program my own Kyma patches lately, but one of the things that I have found a bit annoying is that, sometimes, when you add a suffix to the name of a variable that you want to control with the VCS, the range of that variable changes...

In a patch I am doing right now, I am using several oscillator modules as well as VCF modules.

For the VCF module, I could control the frequency of the 4 VCFs I have independently by naming the variables !Frequency1, !Frequency2, !Frequency3 and !Frequency4.
The range for frequencies is exactly the same as if I was using !Frequency as available originally for this module.

But when it came to the oscillators, those make use of the !LogFreq, which seems to have a range between 0 and 1 rather than 1 and 127, when I name the parameters !LogFreq1, !LogFreq2, !LogFreq3 and !LogFreq4...

Why is this happening and how can this issue be solved?

Thanks in advance,
Best

Paulo

There is no automatic fix for this since it was the defined behavior for Kyma X. If you want, you could create a new Global Map and make duplicates of the !LogFreq definition for each number you think you will use.

For Kyma 7, !LogFreq1, etc. have the same range as !LogFreq.

Ok, thanks for the feedback!

I actually forgot to mention, but I'm using Kyma X...

So I guess I have to check how to do global maps then
