don't know if many users would want this, but I've been frustrated by it over the years....

I like messing with a sound while controlling it via midi from an external midi controller (currently this insane device called a timefrog).
more and more, I want to avoid using a DAW in addition to kyma to do these basic chores....I'd just love to be able to record the midi notes in kyma and to be able to loop that file. And to set this up quickly.

obviously this isn't a desirable enhancement if very few people would want to use this functionality....

it doesn't look like this records notes and plays them back as notes.

It does. I checked it out a while ago and it's actually pretty awesome for how it's implemented given Kyma is not primarily a MIDI sequencer

That said I'd love to be able to quickly and easily set up a sample accurate loop in the timeline. There is an approach in the tweaky library (I think it's called called Self Looping Timeline) that demonstrates a method for timeline looping (and more) but it's not at all synch accurate so the results aren't usable for anything other than repeating something over and over.

The multigrid is the best tool at the moment for looping.

You are correct, it doesnt 'record and play back MIDI' it converts it into controller information and records that in the timeline achieving much the same effect.

You just cant edit it in a piano roll style display.

converting notes into controller information is very far from recording notes and playing them back as such, unless I'm missing something. I'm not looking for anything complicated at all. Just a sound that will record midi events and play them back - including notes. not a huge deal...
