A replacement for the MotorMix, any thoughts? I know a port was done for the Lemur, this seems like a cheaper alternative, albeit with less mature software? i love the integration my motormix has and this seems a like a more portable and potentially more extensive possibility?

TouchOSC will work on the iPad and currently supports the iPhone / iPod Touch. I've not tried it but it can be connected to Kyma via OSCulator.

Not auto-configuration (which would really be fantastic) like the motormix but a start.

Yes, auto-configuration would be awesome!
For some reasons, it is a bit difficult to let every parties agree on a common standard to allow the configuration "on the fly" of controls. However, I'm also sure this is something that will come this year.
I've suggested Rob to allow TouchOSC to be reconfigured while a layout is running. With a little luck we should be able to meet and define what's needed to achieve that functionality.

Yes these are exciting times. I guess there is a lot to be done to get layout information from Kyma and auto-configure it on the iPad, I hope someone cracks it. I also hope we see some new graphical/gestural ways of interfacing with Kyma via OSC or some such. With respect to Touch OSC, I also hope some of the Lemur software gets ported as they have some lovely physics based modulators.

i think it would be fairly easy to bring the vm2 software from delora (http://delora.com/delora_products/delora_products.html) over to the ipad.

it doesn't do anything proprietary.. it just speaks OSC and motormix.

i've sent a note to delora inquiring.. i'll let you know if i hear back
