I'm probably more easily amused than the typical (i.e. sophisticated) Kyma user who visits this site, but who knows...maybe someone will enjoy this trifle.

I couldn't get exactly the sound I was looking for with either 'GrainCloud' or 'SampleCloud' (since it doesn't have variable pitch). When I managed to put togther something that worked for the project I'm working on, I realized it had more generic applications, so I decided it would be a good opportunity to get some experience creating a'new class.'

ChopperJam w/Random Pan

Based on Kyma "Chopper" prototype controlled by !BPM and !DutyCycle

It also includes a "Sample" prototype as well as an "Attenuator" prototype with Random panning controlled by !BPM.

Best when used with sound files that are hot, rich, and busy (i.e. do not contain too many silent moments), but also ... don't have an "indelible" rhythm pattern, since the sound is design to superimpose a rhythm on whatever sample you run through it.

It also 'likes' a busy Modwheel (or whatever controller you substitute) controlling the frequency of the sample playback.

Enjoy.
