(Follow up on this topic here; formerly in 'Tips & Techniques' section.)

SSC first suggestion:
You could use a TriggeredSoundToGlobalController where the Trigger is an AmplitudeFollower (or PeakTracker) going through a Threshold, the Generated Event is !ProgramNumber, and the Value is 128.

My reply:
How does !ProgramNumber affect the dice? Also, when I use !ProgramNumber as the Generated Event, it does not show up in the VCS as a hot parameter. However, any other name (e.g., !BB_test) does appear.

In this latter case, input from the live input generates a value of 128 on that parameter slider, and it just stays there. I don’t see any of the other parameters in the VCS moving to new, ‘random’ values. What am I missing? Thanks.

Double-check that your VCS is receiving program change messages on the current default MIDI channel. (Your default set is probably set to 1). From the DSP menu, go to Configure MIDI. Then set VCS Presets Program Changes Channel to the same channel as Default Input Channel.

Sending a MIDI program change of 128 on the VCS Presets Program Changes Channel will roll the dice.
