Hi all,

Is anyone running X.82 successfully on a Windows XP machine? I've tried 32 and 64 bit versions with my Capybara and the application hangs shortly after opening. I removed my old Kyma.app folder, put the new one in and made the shortcuts (I tried both SSE and non-SSE).

I sent an email with my information to symsound but I wanted to find out if anyone else is encountering this.

Thanks!

We think it is a folder-locating problem. Working on it!

I've recently started using my Capybara again, and the Windows XP executable crashes immediately after launch (same for the Windows 2000 version under XP 32-bit). The version from the Windows folder loads and seems to work well, but I do experience random crashes that I can't quite explain. Hopefully you can get the XP situation sorted out, since I'd like to continue using my XP laptop with Kyma.

Hi.

Make sure you're using the latest version of X.82 (re-download, if necessary), and then copy the Kyma X.app folder over your old one.

Finally, run MakeDesktopShortcut.vbs in Kyma X.app and follow the prompt. If one does not work, do it again and choose the alternative.

Cebec beat me to it, I am running under XP, I am using the latest download and had to do something similiar to what he describes in order to get things rolling.

Thanks for the replies. The script simply appears to make a shortcut to one of the two executables in the 'Windows' folder, which I have been using but is still slightly unstable on my system.

What I'm wondering about is whether or not the version in the 'XP' folder should be used under XP, or if it's there for some kind of archival/legacy reason.

Sounds like you have a mix of old and new files. To fix this, please delete the Kyma X.app folder (in the Kyma folder). Then replace it with a fresh copy of X.82 downloaded from the site. Thanks!
