![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Base on my lectures of "Microsound" by Curtis Roads I´m trying implement some Kyma patches that reflect some of the types of granular synthesis. One of them is Glisson Synthesis where there is a base frequency for grains and then a deviation from that frequency in a kind of glissando. Two questions: - is it possible to SampleCloud create a jittering from the main frequency to the deviation frequency in a glissando movement? - is it possible to check what duration the deviation will be so I can use that value to control other parameter ( like grain duration )? Many thanks Luis Aly IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() You could try doing the glissando in the Frequency parameter (and use FreqJitter for deviations around that base glissando pitch). Maybe something like this: default * (1 - (1 ramp: 10 s)) Make sure Interpolation is checked in the SampleCloud. Your grain duration could change in an opposite direction to the frequency, for example: !GrainDur s * (1 + (1 ramp: 10 s)) IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ...also, you can design your own stochastic functions to modulate parameters like !Pan or !Frequency, rather than the use the built in jitter functions... for example try randomWalkStartingFrom: !startVal stepSize: !step reset: !Reset either as the base or the jitter or both. ![]() ![]() ![]() First of all many thanks for your answer. I was on holiday and did not respond right away ... I tried these solutions with some good results but I will wait for KISS2011 in my hometown to check personally with all Kyma users. The city of Porto welcomes you. See you in Casa da Musica ![]() Creative regards Luis Aly IP: Logged |
