I almost never use the timeline in my projects, but when I do, I run into a problem where the DSP status window flashes "Out of real time" on and off and the DSP meters fluctuate wildly between min and max. The whole system freezes up, and this is using two sounds which hardly use any resources at all. If I delete one of them (either) the timeline runs as normal.

I have uploaded an example Timeline where this happens, although it is quite normal and seems to happen whenever I use more than one sound in the timeline.

This is using a Mac PowerBook G4 OS 10.4.11 and a Paca, FW 400.

In general, it is more efficient to place any processing modules *post any module or feature that adds polyphony (e.g. the Timeline polyphony feature or a Replicator, for example).

For example, in this Timeline you had added polyphony to a track that had a reverb on it. By instead sending that polyphonic track to a submix, and adding reverb to that submix, you could make the whole thing more efficient.
