hello,
Are there any plans to increase the number of supported Audio Outputs?
(or did i misunderstand anything? Maximum 8 Audio Outputs right?)
That would be just incredible! Since i'm very much into live improvisation, and thus analogue mixing/routing, i would love that.
thanks!

I've asked this exact same question a few times (including soon after getting the Pacarana, which was soon after it was released). SSC told me it is technically possible but it is not a priority, so it will happen at some point but they can't say when...

I also think it would be VERY useful to be able to make use of the full I/O count (so the inputs as well) on whichever interface you're using for Kyma, considering how powerful the Pacarana is. Also bearing in mind some of the interfaces are very expensive, it seems a waste to only be able to use 8 I/O! For me personally it would be great if they could implement it.

I never used the Capybara, but it seems because that was limited to 8 I/O this now seems to have been built into the software, and I guess difficult to remove the limitation. I've no idea how it works though, that just seems to be what has happened, at a guess.

Hi! It would also be very cool if the Pacarana could use SoundFlower or something similar instead of a real hardware i/o. There seem to be some neat offerings that use ethernet to transfer audio too..

Hello,
i would like to have more I/O s too. but instead of Ethernet i would like to have the option to adress all the I/O of the interfaces already working with Kyma. For example all the ADAT I/O AND the analog I/O as individual I/O s of a TC Konnekt or MOTU Traveller etc.

I run audio over ethernet in my big composing setup but it is really painful. I tried lots of diverent solutions but none is 100 percent satisfying(espacially if mixed with MIDI over ethernet etc.)

I would prefer a stable firewire core audiodriver (and maybe something similar for the WIN7 plattform ;-) ) for the pacarana...

all the best
chris

Looks like some cool audio routing possibilities are coming to Kyma, check this video from Carla Scaletti http://ssc-media.com/Movies/KISS2010/WhatNewKyma.mov where she talks about some of the things they are working on for future release.

Kyma as an Audio Unit plugin, and using the Mac built-in audio device as i/o for Kyma.. Coolio!

I took the liberty of running the WhatNewKyma.mov file through Compressor and reduced it's size from 657MB to 230MB. Perhaps SSC would like to replace their copy with this one to speed up download times and reduce server load?

It can be downloaded from : http://www.micronaut.info/photonal/video/Media/WhatNewKyma.mov
