Would it be possible to add a "pre-zero" option like Delay has to the MemoryWriter?

The wavetable doesn't get cleared when a Sound is re-compiled, so there is always "junk" left over from the previous run. This is especially a problem when using long capture times.

It seems like one would always want to start with an "empty" wavetable (or delay line).

We have added pre-zeroing to our list.

Until we have it implemented, there are several ways to work around this:

* use another MemoryWriter that is scheduled before your real MemoryWriter that writes zero into the memory

* if you have something like the SampleCloud reading the memory, keep its TimeIndex restricted to the beginning of the recording early on. You could multiply your TimeIndex by (!LocalTime * 0.1) clipTo01, for example

* or, you could use an envelope on the output of the Sound that reads the memory in order to mute the output until you have a valid recording

Could you .please. make "pre-zeroŽing" in the MemoryWriter optional (as with DelayWithFeedback) in the form of a toggle button?

There are situations where I use the "garbage" left over in the MemWriter, and IŽd really like to continue working that way...
