In the the ActiveState of the tool I have a local variable 'a'; this only updates when the Event Value is set to "!WiiRoll', any other values such as '!WiiPitch' or 'NunJoyX' do not work. I have checked these other Wii parameters in a test Kyma sound and Kyma is responding to them as expected. Any idea as the cause? Or how I can get other OSC events into the tool? IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() My understanding of this Tool is that you can draw in the polar coordinates with the mouse, record your gestures, and play them back. So am a little unclear on how the Wiimote would be used in this scenario. (I see where you've used it as the mapping for variable a in ActiveState, but am unclear on how you would like it to behave). Thanks! IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() Yes the original version uses the mouse position; however using the Wiimote I was hoping to add a third; z parameter (for a Spherical space instead of the current circle), perhaps with !WiiPitch or !NunJoyY. (x and y could then be controlled using !WiiRoll and !WiiYaw) or some combination or those which works best. I intend to use the buttons on Wiimote/NunChuck to control Recording and Playback of events if I can access those events in the tool. ![]() ![]() ![]() The strangeness has disappeared! ![]() Having done further checking and testing I went onto the OSCulator website and found a new version 2.8.3 (I was on 2.7.1.c / the new version is great btw Camille!). On running OSCulator the "Perfect Pairing" extension was updated. (I didn't think it had anything to do with OSCulator at first because the Wii-events could be used within Kyma sounds as normal.) Now, I can access the other Wiimote messages (WiiYaw etc) in the tool without any problems. Perhaps the "Perfect Pairing" extension update has solved this issue. ![]() ![]() ![]() The strangeness came back! But is now gone for good, I hope!! ![]() The OSCulator upgrade was a Red Herring. Just completed some more testing etc. It seems that wii-events have to *activated* first, for example by using them in a sound - they can then be accessed in a Kyma tool. I was developing the tool on it's own without having a corresponding sound open which used these parameters. Once *activated* no sound needs to be open - the tool can be used with OSCulator on its own : as one doesn't want to be listening to clicks or drones the whole time whilst coding! IP: Logged |
