This is using image analysis to generate values for it's RGB content, which is mapped using OSCulator into Kyma which drives the various sound parameters. Attached in the archive are the Kyma sounds, an OSCulator patch and Quartz Composer compositions. The source movie (taken from the view from my back garden) can be downloaded here (although live video input could also be used): The Quartz Composer composition VideoHistogram->OSC.qtz is similar to ChartTools-VideoHistogram-OSC.qtz except that the additional Quartz Composer plugin requirements have been removed (the additional plugins can be found at kineme.org and 1024d.wordpress.com ). VideoHistogram->OSC.qtz shows the original movie on the left (image input) and the right is the current image data driving the output. ChartTools-VideoHistogram-OSC.qtz makes use of additional plugins which help with finding interesting areas of the image as the RGB values are graphed. Use the Crop X and Crop Y values in the Image Crop patch of the Quartz Composer composition to locate the image source; the Crop Width and Crop Height determine how large an area of the image to analyze. The interpolation patch is used to sweep across the image. Hope you like it as much as I do! Any feedback welcome. [This message has been edited by photonal (edited 14 August 2010).] IP: Logged |
