Hi Kymaland

When reading an audio file with GenericSource or MultiSample with the source checked on "disk" some strange annoying bleep blast in the speakers. When the same GenericSource/MultiSample is checked on "RAM" there is no problem.
Do you have any reason for this behavior?

Many thanks

Luis Aly

Does the noise burst show up at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of the file?

Could you please email the file to us so that we could see what might be going on? We suspect that there may be something different about this specific file.

Hi SCC

The noise burst appears randomly. Just to notice that the audiofiles that I load are on an external hard drive ( don“t know if this is important )
I upload the offensive file hope it runs since I tried File Archivist with no luck. By the way how does it work?

Many thanks

Is it one particular file? Or every sample file you play? What is the sample rate and what is the format of the files you are playing (e.g. AIF? wav?)

Hi SCC

It happens with an audio file and at random times. Sometimes when changing presets other times during a preset. The sample rate and bit depth depends ... normally 44kHz / 24bit but work also at 48kHz. The format depends but normally is .wav

Many thanks

In GenericSource, when you check the RAM box, does it sound any different?

(I tried playing your Sound but did not get the artifacts you were describing, so maybe the key to the problem is in the files you are using?)

TimeLineWithDiskReplicator.ktl

Hello,
i can confirm the short noise ticks or bursts when using the replicator with a MultiFileDiskPlayer or the replicator with GenericSource with Source = Disk.

It also happens wth the prototype "Replicator Creates Polyphony" if i choose samples with a soft beginning(with out transients... just to "hear" the beginning of the sample) and replicate it.
(try attachment)

just my 5 cent. hope it helps testing.

all the best
chris

Hi

Normally when I check "RAM" on GenericSourece or MultiDiskPlayer everything is ok ... no noise burst

The audiofiles I think have no problem ( since it happens randomly )

Hope it helps

Best regards

Luis Aly

Does this occur when you have a single GenericSource from disk, or only when it is used with the Replicator? If with the Replicator, how many copies do you have it set for?

Hi SCC

It happens without Replicator. Only GenericSource or MultiFileDiskPlayer with Disk checked. The problem disappear with RAM checked.
Maybe a disk velocity problem?...

Many thanks for your help
