Hi. I just recently purchased a kyma. I am totally new to this system. But so far, I love it. I am trying to build a sample based sequencer that I can change the resolution of each sample on a midi keyboard. I want it to stop when I release the key. Is there a good way to do this?

When you say "change the resolution", do you mean change the number of bits in a sample (to make it sound noisier)?

As for having the sequencer stop, you might get some ideas from the arpeggiators in the Kyma Sound Library.

No. Change the sample to like 64 beats per measure or 128 ect. with a midi keyboard. I would like to map each sample on the keyboard as well. Is there anything like this in the sound library? Or anything I can use to make this. Its going to take me a few months just to learn the basics of the kyma.

Also, I meant to say stop the change of the resolution when I depress the key ( I want it to change when I press the key and hold it down) Its somthing I have wanted to do. Before I had the kyma, I used reaktor. What a waste of money that app is. It was real buggy and I couldnt ever get anything done with the CPU power I had. Im glad I now have a really good sound design system that I can do anything I want and expand more than a PC.

I am trying to make algorithms that let you freely manipulate generated rhytyms in real time. What I want to try and build is a sequencer that is sample based and will let me quantinize the samples to 64ths and 128ths and ect.

Try looking at the examples in the Rhythmic Loops file in the Sampling folder of the Kyma Sound Library. There are some examples there like "shuffle-izers" that use a sequencer to sequence through a single sample. You may be able to use one of those as a starting point for what you are trying to do.
