I received a catalogue of sample CDs. Basically there are two versions, CD Audio and CDROM with various formats.

CD ROM is much more expensive but recommended "as a lot of the work is already done for you, grouping together samples and key maps and sample points into the format needed".....but that's for GigaSampler or AKAI or whatever.

My question is given KYMA's DIY nature in the sampling department ;-) am I better off ordering the audio version and doing a lot of work to add functionality....or ordering the CD ROM version and doing a lot of work to convert formats and strip off unwanted info?????

Maybe you should wait and see in Kyma X adds Akai sample support. I hope it does. For now, I purchase the CD-Rom version, and use the EXS24 for playback into the Kyma. You can change loop points ect within the EXS24, but a lot of the work has been done. I personally don't have time to edit 4000 drum samples, and keymap them all with velocity layers.
