![]() ![]() ![]() I am trying to Sync Pro tools and Kyma on the same PC. I generate the mtc with the Motu and have pro tools has mmc master. Everything works fine except that the timeline in Kyma does not move at all. I have the clock source to timecode in the timeline. And i can see the timecode playing in the DSP status window. Am i missing something? Is it because its on the same PC? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() One thing to double-check: have you pressed the space bar on the Kyma Timeline to start it? It has to be in play mode before the MTC can control the cursor. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Ok the problem was that the MTC generator from my midi interface was adding 1 hour extra in the time code. I had to add that offset in Pro-Tools. Now, everything works fine. Just one thing. When the cursor reaches an empty space (no sounds on all tracks), it will play for around 1 second then stop. Its not a big problem, i can add a dummy sound to one of the track to keep the cursor going. Just wondering if its normal. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() It is normal for the time cursor to stop at the end of the last Sound in the Timeline. Is that what mean? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Ok. What really happened is that Kyma had frozen between two sound on the timeline :P Everything is good! Another small thing.. I only hear Kyma when it's the Main Window (selected window). I don't hear kyma when im in pro-tools. Is there a way around this? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Are you saying that, if you start the Timeline & hear Kyma, then bring the PT windows to the front, you no longer hear Kyma? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() If im in pro tools and press play i wont hear kyma. if i put kyma in front i will hear it and the cursor will be at the correct place in time. If i return in pro tools i will still hear kyma in the back. but if i stop in pro-tools. kyma won't stop. If i put kyma in front again it will update itself again and stop. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ive found an older topic talking about the subject. Timeline and LTC in Kyma Support. On my side, it does it even if i don't have hot parameters in my timeline. Playing just audio files does the same thing (no VCS). IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Could you please try opening the DSP Status window and leaving it open when you switch over to PT? If it works, then this will give us a good clue as to what is going on. Thank you! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Still doesnt work. when i switch to Pro-Tools, nothing updates in the DSP Status (its like a still image). Its starts reupdating itself when kyma X is the Main Window. [This message has been edited by YanDoiron (edited 05 February 2011).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Could you please repeat a test that I just tried here? 1. Play Drone from the Prototypes IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Ahhh I forgot to test it with the DSP status window in front before (with osx). Now it works if the DSP status window is what's in front in Kyma. Everything Works Fine!! I see the time updating and the timeline responds to the LTC changes even if Kyma is not the Software in front. Thanks a lot for your help! IP: Logged |
