![]() ![]() ![]() Hi all, Just went through a move and having some difficulties with my Capybara-- which I suspect is a problem with power and the old Kyma Firewire interface that I still use. I think the power adapter may be zapped. Question: when the Firewire box is sufficiently powered, is there a light on the front that lights up (i.e., the green one)? I can't remember if there is a power status light on this little box and knowing this would help greatly in my troubleshooting. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() There should be two lights: red and green. Be careful to use the original (3.3 V with proper polarity) power adapter (the wall wart) because an incorrect adapter can destroy the interface. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the update. I know that one (or both) of these lights are only illuminated when the Capy is activated and Kyma is running. My question is will the green light be illuminated when simply connecting the PSU? I just need to know so that I can narrow down if my issue is with the PSU or with the Firewire box itself. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, Can you please advise as to the above? I am in the middle of a project and I am trying to troubleshoot why Kyma fails to work. I suspect it is the Firewire interface. Should either one of the lights be illuminated simply with the presence of power? I have confirmed the PSU is okay, but I have no lights on the front of the Firewire box when connected to power. ![]() ![]() ![]() I recently ran into a similar issue with my Flame interface. Unfortunately it is now inoperable so I cannot confirm what I am about to recount from memory. When the Flame is powered the red LED should glow. When the connection is working properly the green LED should be lit. I would suggest that you contact Symbolic Sound through their support email directly. This forum is low traffic these days because most of the activities have migrated to the new Kyma site and its Q&A section. Doug IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the reply Doug. I had no idea there was a new site -- admittedly I am part of the "low traffic". For some reason the Flame came back to life yesterday. I have not changed a thing. I plugged it in to test it with a new FW cable, no change, so I put the old one back in place and forgot about it. Took a look at the rig a couple hours later at the red light had turned on. Not confidence inspiring! Thanks for the tips. Adam IP: Logged |
