Hi old graphire pen was completely broken, and its not possible to replace just the pen - so i had to buy a new tablet pen combo - and the only thing in the store was the Bamboo - is it fully compatible with Kyma ?

Seems to behave a little weird when I choose to control the sound with the pen and the mouse with button one pressed down - i can move the cursor with the pen stuck to the bamboo tablet, but cannot click on anything...

hi cristian,

i'm surprised your graphire actually worked. i bought one two years ago, and it didn't work correctly, i had the exact same symptoms as you.

SSC told me that the only really compatible tablet was the intuos 3, and this is a hard one to find sometimes …

well , i had a lot more problems with the Graphire in general OS use - it would send a million double clicks and then go crazy - it was responsible for messing up a track order on a final factory master once, by dragging something by accident on its own -

anyway, i find it much easier on the tendons - this new Bamboo has a mini trackpad for scrolling - this is another controller i guess...

Cristian, Are you describing a scenario of using the Wacom in Sound-controlling mode and then temporarily switching to mouse mode by holding down the switch on the pen? Is this the scenario that is not working as you expect?

The Graphire has fewer parameters than the Intuos (which has pen tilt & angle) but it is compatible with Kyma. (Camille, was it the switching back and forth from Sound controller to Mouse mode that was not possible?)

Yes, I think I had the same mouse mode to sound controller switching problem with the graphire. But I also got it with the Intuos when I was using the wrong drivers …

Hi Cristian et al,
Sorry to drag a topic so old back from the depths, but I was just wondering if you have found the bamboo to work well with Kyma? By which I mean using it as a controller for the Wacom sounds.

From memory Cristian you are on Mac aren't you? Are you using the SSC way of getting the Wacom to work or are you using OSCulator?

Thanks in advance for any clarification!

David

Anyone?

SSC: can you comment on whether the Wacom Bamboo will work or not with Kyma?

Hi David,

We haven't tested one here, but so far as we know, it ought to work. We have heard from a few people by email saying that the Bamboo is working with their Kyma systems. We expect it to work the same way a Graphire works (that is, without the tilt controls that the Intuos line supplies). Can anyone confirm this from actual experience?
