Control*.kym.zip

In the attached sounds, Kyma is utilised to output control data. However, the version using the 'GenericSourceStereoDisk' seems to loop, even though 'autoloop' is switched off (see Control* sound).

I ended up having to play the audio from Ableton Live into Kyma in order that Kyma responds as expected to the audio (see DigitalControl* sound) {i.e. stops outputting midi control data when the audio file reaches EOF}.

Is there something wrong with 'GenericSourceStereoDisk' or have I perhaps missed a setting in the sound.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

When I tried it here, the GenericSource worked correctly (no looping), so my guess is that the last sample in your disk file might be non-zero so the amplitude and pitch trackers might be continuing to output MIDI even though you've reached the end of the file.

To ensure that the disk lasts a specific duration, you could feed it through a SetDuration module before feeding it to the amplitude and pitch trackers. Then you could set the duration to the exact duration of the file using:

'Spaceship Earth III.aif' sampleFileDuration s
