Today in the Guardian Newspaper is a fantastic article about recovering sound from recording the vibrations of objects with a high-speed video camera. I couldn't help thinking what would then happen if the high speed cameras mentioned in the article were used to film other objects, like a tree blowing in the wind, and by mapping the tree structure to harmonics, such as the trunk to a fundamental, through to its leaves at the high harmonics - what would ensue? Would a forest of conifers sing a different melody than a deciduous woodland? Awesome idea, Photonal. I think you should try it! And then you should come to KISS2014 and teach the rest of us how to do it! IP: Logged |

Photonol brought up a good point. When I listened to the original project it got me really curious about other mappings with the data input. It seemed like a fun exploration to develop some alternate timbre related control mappings IP: Logged |
