![]() ![]() ![]() I've got some looping functions running on a Sample Sound. However, instead of referring to a disk sample, I'd like to use streaming sound from a Memory Writer for live looping. I've selected 'From Memory Writer' within the Sample Sound, and I've also named some samples (referred to within my Sample Sound looping scripts) appropriately (eg. recordingL, recordingR - as named in Memory Writer's 'Recording Name' field). However, when I go to compile the sound, Kyma asks me to select the samples referred to within my scripts, on DISK... Of course, as those sounds are supposed to be streaming from a Memory Writer, they don't yet exist on disk right?! Furthermore, I'm using the 'sampleFileDuration s' command within my looping scripts. Would that automatically correspond to the 'Capture Duration' parameter of the Memory Writer as long as the file name is the same? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I've just noticed that I didn't really word my question very clearly! Basically, what I was wondering is how can I use a Memory Writer in combination with a Sample Sound and some looping scripts, so that the audio to be looped streams from the Memory Writer recording in real time, and the scripts (including sampleFileDuration s) also refer to the Memory Writer recording... instead of a disk file... (The problem I'm having right now is that when I try to play the sound, Kyma asks me to locate the samples I'm referring to - on disk, when I'm actually trying to stream them from the Memory writer) Hope that makes more sense... ![]() ![]() ![]() The Sample will take its duration from the CaptureDuration of the MemoryWriter. If, in CaptureDuration, you use 'mySample' sampleFileDuration then the Sample *reading* that memory will use the duration as its loop time. (Sending the message sampleFileDuration to the chunk of memory used by the MemoryWriter caused Kyma to search the disk looking for that chunk of memory, thinking it was a sample on disk).
