how could I use a sidechain sound (e.g. compressor) in multigrid. I mean is there a way to get two different signals in into one sound?

You could try forming a stereo pair with sideChain on left and input on right, then set the input to the compressor's track to take a stereo submix input. Then in the compressor Sound, you could send LeftChannelOnly to the SideChain and RightChannelOnly to the Input.

Let us know how it goes.

You can also try shared MemoryWriters which is a little bit more flexible I think..

That's a good idea!
would you implement a memorywriter into a sound (as a kind of second output) of a track and then select share memorywriters in order to send to a submix?

Exactly!
You can't send to a submix, but you can use a sample module in another Sound to read the memory. I haven't tried but maybe feedbackLoops also work inside multigrid?

unfortunately, it doesn't work. although I've selected "share memorywriter" it doesn't send audio to another track.

Sorry my fault, I thought I had this working but I was wonrg. You can only share memorywriters inside a track. Global MemoryWriters would be a nice feature though

I've reworked your example, now it's working. You have to use channeljoins to distribute the channels. Enjoy!

p.s. Next time you should use the Q&A, the forum will die away slowly..

thank you again, gustl!
your example is working fine. but as you mention it a global memory writer would be great tool in helping this way.
to the new q&a: I have found already the kyma q&a. It's very smart tool

Global memory is already available in the MultiGrid. In EACH track where you would like to share memory, use the Gear menu to set Sharing Memory Writers to ON. Sharing should be set in the track where you write the memory and in any tracks where you read the memory.

Additionally, since the submix input to a track can be up to 8 channels wide, this is also a valid way to route multiple channels to Sounds in a MultiGrid track.
