Tried to launch Kyma today for the first time this year. Nothing but hard crashes. Remembered that I'd updated my laptop to Mavericks ... and that there was a new version of Kyma released last month. So ... I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Kyma (complete with firmware upgrade for Pacarana). Great. Program launches and connections recognized.

BUT (and it's a BIG one) ... The piece I am performing in just a few days will not run at all (out of realtime). Worst yet, the only scheduled rehearsal with my player is tomorrow. [To be fair, even on the older version of Kyma and the older firmware, it was on the edge. (Status window said I "*might* have exceeded..." But it always ran just fine.) But now I get nothing but click and pops.]

I still have an old non-Mavericks laptop that I could use, but I don't know about the feasibility of going backwards on the firmware update.

Anyone tried this with success?

Anyone got any other ideas, other than to off-load a pile of (very cool) realtime CrossSynthesis to fixed audio files?

Anyone else experiencing a loss of realtime output with timelines or sounds that ran OK before this last update?

Since it is only 24 hours before a performance, using your old laptop and back-dating the firmware is the solution of choice.

After the performance, you can send us the Timeline by email and we can make some recommendations on optimizing it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Backdating the firmware worked fine. The Timeline is now fully functional. All I need to do now is reacquaint myself what all I did during live performance. ;-)

Hi SSC,

I have the same problem with the Prototype Cross filter short stereo...
It was the same with the older firmware... In the Dsp Status only the first one is full ? And i have the message " Not in real time ", and the resulting sound is pops or clicks.
I 've noticed that my Pacarana seems a bit slower too...

Best,

Samy

Hi Samy,

Try setting the ResponseDuration to 0.1 s for the CrossFilter_Short-Stereo.

On CrossFilter_Long-Stereo you can use longer ResponseDurations (or set it to "maximum") and can also check the AllowLongerDurations box.
