After installing 5.15 I am now having constant scheduling problems, causing out of real time with the simplest Sounds. Am I the only one?

I have noticed some seemingly odd indications when I use TimeLines. But since I just began using TimeLines a lot for some of my sounds I can't be certain that the upgrade to 5.15 caused this problem.

Particularly, if I use FFT's in any Sounds, it seems I can't utilize more than one track containing an FFT. This, despite the capability of performing numerous FFT's inside one Sound when executed outside a TimeLine environment.

David, could you please email us an example of a Sound that worked under the previous version and no longer schedules correctly? Thanks.

Sound Library (An Overview) Sounds like the Cross Vocoder, Formnt mod resynth, Harmonic resonator and Morph dominic to carla all have cards 6 - 10 (of 10) hitting the roof while leaving 1-5 workless. And cards 1-9 have their first 3 stripes blinking when there is no Sound running?

Hi, yes... I would go with what djkiers says. I can't be certain that the version change broke anything. All I can be certain about is that running parallel tracks using FFT's don't work. But that a single Sound with numerous FFT's does work.

David (Kiers): Can you tell me what sample rate you are using? I checked out those examples at 44.1 khz and had no problems.

David (McClain): Can you email us a stipped-to-the-bones timeline that exhibits this problem? Thanks!

I'm extremely sorry for the trouble and ashamed for not looking, it was indeed using 92180 Hz. Multi using without separate prefs. Thanks a lot, David.

I took a closer look too... It isn't FFT's per se. But rather, it was too many FFT's combined with SpectrumAnalyzer displays. The poor Capy runs out of memory trying to do so much...

And it isn't restricted to TimeLines either. I took those two tracks and made a composite Sound out of them, and it fails that way too. The composite had 2 FFT's and their inverses, plus a bunch of FFT-length delay lines, and a SpectrumAnalyzer display. Take away the SpectrumAnalyzer and everything plays okay as the composite AND as the parallel TimeLines.

Q? Would adding additional DSP's and memory help this situation? I seem to be stuck at FFT sizes of 1024 and I can't ever go beyond this. Or is this a built-in limit of the Capy?

Cheers,

I am also seeing unusual scheduling. On my 8 DSP system, the last four will be maxed-out and the first four unused. I am running at 44.1kHz, so I don't think sample-rate is the problem.

I have emailed some example Sounds to SSC.
