Is there a design difference between HP/LC filter? or it's always and in ALL cases the same thing?

I don't think there is a difference, except the point of view: cutting versus passing.

Here is a description I found on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-pass_filter

Hi

Although there is no difference there is a tendency (although not official) two use the two terms to give an idea of where the cut off is. If I was to insert a hi pass filter I would expect no lo and no mid, but if I was to insert a lo cut I would expect the mid to still be there. i.e I would expect the cutoff frequency to be lower with a lo cut. But I must repeat this is not a standard used by every one.
