I was asked if there is any way in Kyma to scratch, chop or stutter sound files. The person who asked already owns a Numark Axis 8 and is using that at this time but wants to know if there is a way to do the same or better in Kyma. I'll have to say, that the demo of the Axis 8 that he gave me is quite impressive. There is very little information about the device at the web site and no PDF manual is available. I did a quick look through the sound library and did not find anything that could be used. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks, Bob

Take a look in the Kyma Sound Library>Sampling>Rhythmic Loops. Also in the Prototypes in the Looping category. Also in the Spectral Processing-Live there are various freeze-framing and scrambling prototypes.

Bob, I'm interested in the kinds of things the Numark did and how the controls worked. Please tell more! Mail me directly if you'd like: dennis@green-teasoftware.com
