I have been encountering an odd error sequence when recording sounds from the timeline. On the initial recording process, I get the following message after clicking on Save for the soundfile:

"Unexpected end-of-file or other file error (6)"

I click ok on that dialog box, and a second dialog appears, saying:

"No error (0)"

I click ok on that, and re-do the recording process steps. On the second try, the recording goes smoothly. What am I doing wrong here?

Dear bobbd,

I had this same problem and SSC gave me the following advice:

'We have had this happen once or twice here, but not often enough to track down. One suspicion we have has to do with the Spotlight automatic indexing of your hard disk (if this is on a Macintosh). Could you please try disabling Spotlight (temporarily) to see if the problem does not recur? (You can do this by adding your hard disk to the Privacy list in the Spotlight page of the System Preferences.)'

I've had no further problems since I disabled indexing...

Hope that helps...

Jack

Jack,
Thanks for passing along the advice; I will disable Spotlight.
Best,
Bob
