![]() ![]() ![]() I'm looking for some tips on creating a live monsterizer. Basically what I want to do is take a live input or vocal sample and give the live input characteristics of an animal noise that I choose. Such as a lion, whale, bird etc. I've tried using Amp Follower and Freq Tracker to trigger Sum of Sines but it sounds pretty synthetic. If there is anything else that I could trigger that might give me slightly more "realistic" results that would be appreciated. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Matthew You could try a well selceted loop of an animal sample and pitch control that from a pitch tracker. And then put that output into a vocoder controled by the same mic. I know that vocoders have got a bad name as sounding machine like but that's normaly because the input signal is a synth. You instead will have say a looped lions raw and hopfully the loop will be masked by the fact that your mic signal will be pitch changing it and EQ changing it, giving it a more animal (human animal) type feel. In this case if you growl agressivly in the mic you should get similar agression to the output. Note: you may have to be very carefull about feedback as you signal returning to the mic may be messing with the vocoder without being imediatly obviouse. Pete IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I programmed more or less exactly that for a horror/computer game flick. If you happen to read German I can send you a copy of an article I wrote about this job. [This message has been edited by mathis (edited 27 April 2005).] IP: Logged |
