I absolutely love the effect Edmund gets on Arabeque demo here.

Anyone have ideas on how that sound is made? There is morphing involved, I'm wondering whether a Tao approach or resynthesis.

Seems like scrubbing through the sample maybe?
Pitch shifting, wondering whether also monotonizing the pitch in the sample.

It's really beautiful. Any ideas appreciated. Would be a good challenge for me.

I could be wrong but it sounds like one of the sounds in the galeries generated from a harmonic spectral analisys (aggregateSynthesisHarmonic\KBD Monotonized FormantBank: spectrumFileName.spc) with the Y axis on the continuum used as the time index. I dont think there is any morphing involved on this.

Thanks I really appreciate it.

I hate to do this but I've been looking for this sound for the last 45 minutes and no joy.

It's not in my Kyma library and I can't find it on the Wiki anywhere.

Looking here http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Share/Sounds

I don't have that spectra file either (unless this was just referring to insert your file here.)

Most likely it's right in front of my eyes since my wife constantly tells me I can't find things.

Have a link to the page?

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris, I think Sean was suggesting that if you use the Spectral Analysis tool (from the Tools menu), analyze a sample, then save the spectrum, it opens a Sound file with examples (that's where you'll find the example he mentioned).

Alternatively, if you you already have a spectrum file (with .spc file extension), you can open a spectrum editor on it, then click the rightmost button at the bottom to open a Gallery of examples based on that file.

Ah thanks so much, I can't wait to try it. So many undiscovered places for me still.

Damn!

I thought I would be satisfied with the small continuum before I saw this.
