Hi!
A few months ago someone mentioned that the analogue outs of the capy are soldered phase reverse. Therefore there is the minus button in the status window. Does this apply to the digital outs too? If yes, why not programm Kyma to compensate for that issue automatically? Does this apply to a certain revision of the capy or are all capys phase reverse?

Thanks,

Frank.

Right, the digital outputs are phase *correct*. (and you can phase-correct the analog outputs by clicking the plus signs in the DSP Status window, or you can wire the XLR connectors to invert the signal by swapping pins 2 and 3).

The digital outs are always according to the +/- button in the status window. So a + means phase correct on the digital outs. However, due to some weird circumstances the analog outputs are always phase inverted to the digital outs. So, to get phase correct analog out you have to switch the outs to "-". Then, however, the digital outs will be phase inverted.

Right, Kurt?

Yes. Unfortunately, the XLR connectors on the Capybara-320 were connected with pins 2 and 3 swapped, resulting in a phase inversion. (The inputs are correct.)

You can wire the XLR cables from the Capybara outputs with pins 2 and 3 swapped (on the Capybara end of the cable) to make the phase of the analog and digital outputs agree.

So if I understand you all correctly they *only* way to keep analogue out *and* digital outs the same is to add a phase reverse cable to the analogue outs because the +/- in the status window flips both digital *and* analogue outs?

thanks,

frank.

hi cam this is the posting describing what i said so you can use the plus button and flip the phase of your analogue outs and find out if this helps your problem.
