![]() ![]() ![]() hi, i have a m-audio keystation pro88 keyboard controller connected directly to my capybara (midi out -> midi in). for some reason, kyma does not recognize the rotary controllers or the faders. the keys work just fine, and it even sees the buttons, but not the knobs/faders. everything works fine with every other application (logic/live, etc), and i have checked with midi monitor to make sure the proper midi/cc messages are being sent, and indeed they are. kyma's midi config window shows no activity for the faders or rotary controls. any help would be much appreciated! - dc IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() What controller numbers are they? What channel? Are they sending system exclusives? If you do not see them showing up in DSP>configure MIDI>show MIDI, then Kyma is not receiving them. Sometimes a MIDI interface or MIDI merge can filter some of the messages, but you have yours directly connected, is that right? No intermediary software or interfaces? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() after some more fiddling, i have managed to make it work, but only by changing the midi channel to anything but 1. any idea why channel 1 doesn't seem to function properly? thanks! - dc

![]() ![]() ![]() In your Kyma preferences do you have the external controller set to MotorMix? If I remember correctly, I believe channel one is reserved for the MotorMix if the external midi controller preference is set to this. You could try selecting the other midi controller option (I don't have Kyma in front of me now, so I'm not sure of the exact name). IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() i tried switching to 'other', but still no luck on channel one :\ i can use the others with no issue, so it's not a big deal.. just curious as to why channel 1 is acting so strangely. thanks for the help, photonal. - dc IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() dc, You might have to do a DSP>Initialize to reinitialize the DSP after leaving MotorMix mode. Switching TO the MotorMix takes place immediately; however, turning OFF the MotorMix requires that you reinitialize the DSP. IP: Logged |
