Hi!

I have recently brought a Wiimote to the studio and have tried to use it with Kyma.

1) First I press buttons 1&2 at the wiimote so that OSCulator finds it. The Wiimote drware opens and shows the discovered wiimote. If I press buttons or move the wiimote new messages show up.

2) Then I open the Soundfile 1Wiimoteattitudeangles and start the sounds inside.

They do not react to the wiimote even though OSCulator is receiving data from the wiimote (small yellow squares light up). If I undestood the wiki correctly, after getting the wiimote talking to the mac and OSCulator, the next step is trying out the sounds. ALso OSCulator manual says that "As soon as the Wiimote is connected, empty messages are displayed in the list. If you're using Kyma, the messages are automatically configured with Kyma Control Changes events, making the Wiimote readily usable."

I don't know how these messages are automatically configured, in fact I think that for some reason they are not being configured at all in my setup.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Pere

Hi Pere,

I confirm that the version 2.9 RC1 has a problem at automatically mapping the Wiimote parameters. You have three solutions here:

1- revert to version 2.8.8 in order to have automatic Wiimote mappings.
2- wait a bit for 2.9 RC2 to be released (today or tomorrow).
3- configure those message yourself: use the "Kyma CC Ext" event type, and look at the events in the "Value" menu. You will find all you need to precisely map the Wiimote's properties to Kyma.

Best,
Cam

Hey!

Thanks a lot!

Because it's all new to me I thought it was my fault... I can wait a few days and be happy with that.

Yes, I managed to use the wiimote and manually assign the controllers but reading the documentation it was obvious that there was something missing.

Best Regards,

Pere
