Hi, I'm using the Capy with a MOTU Traveler mk1, and would like to output the first two channels over AES/EBU, and the other two channels over S/PDIF, as the Traveler has one of each.

In Kyma, it seems, all four digital outputs must be the same format. Is it possible to change this in Kyma, or should I stick with Analog outs for channels 3-4? Perhaps it's a hardware issue that makes this impossible?

Another option is that the Traveler has an optical input that will accept a S/PDIF signal. If I were to use something to convert coax S/PDIF from Kyma to optical, would I introduce any noticeable latency into the signal?

Thanks,
Kyle Hughes

Can't help w your question but the a/ds and d/as on capybara are really good! A little bit of presence boost to my ears compared to my fireface but I really like them. Kurt did a great jbit of engineering on them

Hi Kyle,

You're right, all four of the Capybara outputs switch together to the same digital format.

Possibly? Please let us know if you've found a cable or a box that can do that. It probably would introduce latency, but no way to know for sure without trying it.

Thanks!

I've used these things (dirt cheep if you shop around) (make sure the PSU in included when comparing prices) but they do the job. You can get them either way round and I don't think there is any internal processing or ram so latency would have to be less than one sample.
