When the Spread parameter is zero you get monaural output. When 1 you get the normal stereo field. And when 2 you get "double" the stereo spread. Actually at 2 you get 3*L-R in the left, and 3*R-L in the right. This is reminiscent of a process called "unsharp masking" used in image processing to enhance the contrast of a smooth image. In effect, we are sharpening the contrast between left and right channels here. The output gain block attempts to keep the signal output level roughly constant with spread. Enjoy! - DM IP: Logged | |

The spread is controlled by the LvlMix parameter. When it is -60 dB then you have the usual stereo sound. When it is larger you gradually increase the spread. But also, this adds a certain amount of comb filtering to the sound so you might want to use this one sparingly. The delay is set at 39 samples for 48 KHz operation. If you use 44.1 KHz then change the delay to 35 samples, to get the same 800 microsec delay. - DM IP: Logged |
