It seems the timeline window has to be in focus for it to slave to LTC. Is that the case or am I missing something? I'd like to run the timeline on the same machine as my sequencer and have the TL slave in the background.
I was futzing with it for a while last night to no avail... Any good tricks or wise words?

Did you leave it in play mode? When synching to LTC and you hit the space bar to tell the Timeline to play, the time cursor won't move until it detects that time code.

I do leave it in play mode. As it is I put the TL in play (with timecode selected) - switch to the seq - play - switch back to the TL for it to pick up - switch back to the seq - stop - switch back to TL for the stop to take effect. If I stay in the seq after stopping, TL continues playing in the background with no incoming LTC... Is this normal or could it be my setup?

It's a Mac dual 2ghz, 10.3.9, 2gig ram, with Logic 7. Upgraded to latest Kyma a few days ago. I'm playing out audio TC from Logic. It's been the best way to sync with a separate ProTools machine. Sample accurate lock on every start. I haven't tried Midi sync with TL. It's so unstable I really don't want to use it...
BTW - thanks for the quick replys

Olle, could you please try positioning the DSP Status window so that you can see it in the corner when the sequencer is in the front. If timecode is getting to the Capybara, you should see it updating in the upper right of the DSP Status window.

Code is running in the DSP Status window... Everything set to 30fps... As soon as the TL is in focus, everything is fine - it catches up and runs alongside Logic. When it's not in focus it doesn't respond to changes in incoming TC...

Could you please try closing the Virtual Control Surface that pops up when you play the Timeline? That will ensure that the Timeline window is the frontmost window inside Kyma (even though the sequencer is the frontmost application).

Does that make a difference with the MTC?

Still the same thing... I'll run Kyma on a laptop if I can't get this to work, so I can still get on with what I was going to do, but I'd like to keep Kyma on a big monitor... Could it be Logic that blocks something out? Something to do with FireWire? But I do see it running in the DSP window... It's odd that TL keeps playing even after LTC has stopped if it's not at the forefront...

We have been able to replicate this. The problem occurs when the timeline is not the frontmost window within Kyma.

This is a problem when you have hot controls in the timeline, since the VCS will become the frontmost Kyma window whenever the timeline plays. If there are no hot controls, the VCS will not automatically become the front window whenever the timecode starts coming in.

We have fixed this for the next update to Kyma.

hi there

i am wondering two things; first a possible workaround, if you turn the vcs window to open manually in the preferences folder then it won't open and thus the timeline remains frontmost and more importantly you may be able to retain hot parameters ( the hot paramaters may have to be expressed as !cc values) which could then be controlled by the sequencer.

I haven't been able to test the idea but it could work - i will check it later today.

second any idea when the revision might be ready? No PreSSURE
