I just wanted to share with you guys a track I just finished up that prominently features my Kyma mangling a vocal sample - it's called
Blue and it is available from http://astrolabe.iuma.com

The vocal sample was originally a girl speaking French. I took a patch on my Supernova II, performed a live analysis on it, and used it to dynamically control the spectrum of an aggregate synthesis filterbank that was filtering a grain cloud containing the vocal sample, with that running through delay. I set the Duration of the grains really low and swept the index pointer forward and backwards, with a little bit of TimeJitter to make things interesting.

I love the effect - it's like taking a sample, looping a tiny part of it, and then sliding that "window" forwards and backwards through the sample. Lots of fun :^)

My favorite part is when you can hear it "solo" at the end. Nice the way it toys with your mind--sometimes sounding like a stutter effect, sometimes sounding like it's backwards...
